29 Sep, 2014, Alexandria, VA - B3 Solutions LLC, a provider of services and solutions that enable organizations to achieve operational excellence, announced today the promotion of Stacey Nelson to Vice President of the Transportation Sector. Ms. Nelson joined B3 Solutions in 2009 as a Program Manager (PM) and has managed several large scale efforts including her current position as PM on the Federal Aviation Administration’s Headquarter Contract Support Services (HCSS) contract. Stacey’s previous positions in the private sector with SAIC, Acquisition Solutions, Inc., and other companies followed a distinguished career in the United States Marine Corp.

Ms. Nelson brings more than 25 years of experience in acquisition, contracting and program management to her new role as B3’s Transportation Sector Vice President and she will apply her extensive knowledge and understanding to work with the company’s customers and partners.

14 Aug, 2014, Centerville, VA - The National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC) announced today that B3 Solutions’ Founder and CEO William “Bud” Almas has been appointed to the organization’s seven member Board of Directors. In addition to Bud Almas, the NVSBC appointed three other distinguished veteran business owners, Eric Dailey, Norris Middelton and William Wheeler, to replace some members whose terms had expired.

The NVSBC is a non-profit organization that partners with Federal Agencies and Prime Contractors to promote veteran small businesses and identify contract opportunities.

NVSBC Board President Heidi Gerding said, “As our board continues to evolve, we have been able to move forward and progress because of the commitment of our membership and interest in transitioning veterans into business owners servicing the federal government.” She added, “I am personally grateful to have served with those members whose terms have ended and to welcome our newest members on the board.”

Bud Almas has been involved with the NVSBC since the association’s inception in 2010 as part of his participation in myriad veteran outreach efforts and in 2013 he was the recipient of the organization’s first annual Gordon H. 11 Jun, 2014, Alexandria, VA - 3 Solutions, (B3) announced today the company, in partnership with teammate SSAI, was awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Publications Warehouse Management Services contract at the FEMA Distribution Center. Awarded by the Chief Administrative Officer, Support Services and Facilities Management Division (SSFMD), the work provides FEMA’s Publications Service with storage, warehousing and distribution services nationwide on all FEMA publications, forms and other officially sanctioned published products.

“B3 Solutions welcomes this outstanding opportunity to support FEMA’s publications warehouse operations,” said B3’s CEO, William “Bud” Almas. He added, “In times of national disasters FEMA is an essential source for assistance and information and at B3 Solutions we’re proud to be in a position to support and facilitate FEMA’s dissemination of helpful information.”

On the four-year contract, awarded as an 8(a) soul source under FAR Part 19, B3 and SSAI will provide the management, supervision, administration, labor, equipment and materials to support the movement and maintenance of FEMA publications, materials and data.

FEMA currently distributes approximately 2300 different publications, which are represented by more than 36 million pieces inventoried in the publications warehouse. Each year FEMA disseminates approximately 11 million pieces of helpful information to the general public, state and local governments, disaster locations, non-profit support organizations and other government agencies.

Jordan has more than 27 years of professional experience in government acquisition and contract management, supply chain management and logistics.

As chief strategy officer, Mr. Jordan will provide strategic guidance and direction with the company’s business development, innovative technology solutions and program management initiatives.

“I have known Butch Jordan for nearly three decades,” said B3 Solutions CEO, William “Bud” Almas, “and he is the right person to help our rapidly growing company develop, communicate and execute our strategic initiatives.”

Prior to his tenure at B3 Solutions, Mr. Jordan was a director at Integrity Management Consulting Inc. where his responsibilities included strategic direction and guidance to the company’s defense and civilian sectors. Previously, in his commercial business career, Mr. Jordan held leadership positions with Acquisitions Solutions Inc., Lockheed Martin, Michelin and NCR Corporation. Mr. Jordan held these positions after retiring from the U.S. Army in 1999 as a Lieutenant Colonel after a distinguished 20 year career. In his final position with the U.S. Army, Mr. Jordan was director of International Contracts Management for the Defense Logistics Agency.

Butch Jordan holds a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Virginia State University.

19 Mar, 2013, Alexandria,VA - B3 Solutions, LLC., a provider of customer-focused solutions that enable government organizations to optimize their performance, announced that it has been awarded a prime position on the Acquisition Domain of the Omnibus Program Engineering and Technical Support contract.

B3 Solutions will support the development and fielding of chemical and biological defense materiel for the Department of Defense Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD). The five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract expands B3 Solutions’ presence at JPEO-CBD. Including B3 Solutions, there are 22 awardees in the Acquisition Domain. All awardees have the potential to receive the full value amount of the IDIQ contract if all options are exercised.

“We look forward to providing the critical expertise required to help develop chemical and biological defense solutions,” said William Almas, B3 Solutions CEO. “Nothing is more important than keeping our armed forces and civilians out of harm’s way.”

The JPEO-CBD is responsible for research, development and acquisition support of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense equipment and medical countermeasures for missions overseas and at home.

B3 Solutions will compete for JPEO-CBD task orders to provide acquisition, program management and relations management in CBD and national security communities, strategic planning, program analysis, life cycle management, international program analysis on foreign military sales, equipment expertise on the production and usage of CBD protective equipment, multimedia, graphics, technical writing support, and administrative support.

Schuler, who will continue his duties as chief financial officer (CFO), has more than 35 years of results-oriented experience in the government support services sector. During his tenure as CFO, Schuler oversaw significant corporate growth in the company – tripling revenues and significantly increasing staff levels. As a result, B3 Solutions was recognized two years in a row as one of the America’s fastest growing private-sector companies by Inc. Magazine.

Washington as Chief Operating Officer.

Washington brings 35 years of strategic, executive and operational leadership to B3 Solutions. As Chief Operating Officer, Washington will provide leadership and vision for the company’s business and operating strategy and will oversee all lines of business including transportation, federal services, homeland security and defense.

“Jim Washington will spearhead the development of effective growth strategies, act as ‘client-care officer’ and foster a customer-oriented environment within the operations team,” said William Almas, B3 Solutions’ Chief Executive Officer. “I look forward to working with him as he leads a corporate culture dedicated to providing quality service and superior customer care to our clients.”

In his previous role at B3 Solutions, Washington served as Executive Operations Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and President. Before joining B3 Solutions, he was the Chief Operations Officer of a government defense contractor. Prior to Washington’s retirement from government service, he worked for the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration for 32 years in air traffic management, budget and airport investment where most recently he held the position of Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO). As the CAO, Washington worked closely with defense, intelligence and civilian executives government-wide to improve acquisition systems, strengthen the acquisition workforce, and advance mission performance.

Washington is chairman of the Air Traffic Control Association. He is also a member of the Executive Advisory Council of the National Contract Management Association.

Varnell Memorial Award for Small Business from the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA).

B3 Solutions, which works on a variety of projects for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), was recognized by ATCA for delivering innovative services and on-target solutions for Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations to assist and support the safety and security of the National Airspace Systems.

Raghu, an experienced software engineer and certified project management professional, will be responsible for aligning the company’s technology vision with its business strategy. Raghu will also be responsible for developing and implementing technology initiatives and providing direction in all technology-related issues.

“Arun Raghu will serve as chief architect for internal operations and subject matter expert for IT business development requirements,” said William Almas, B3 Solutions CEO. “His experience makes him a valuable contributor to the B3 Solutions team on all IT matters.”

Prior to joining B3, Raghu led the Inventory Management System Enhancement project for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Recently, Raghu also managed several corporate initiatives to include B3’s CMMI and ISO 9001:2008 certifications. Raghu earned his Bachelor’s Degree in computer science and engineering from the College of Engineering Chengannur in Kerala, India.

Cornwell, who has more than 25 years experience in strategic system integration, business development and marketing management, will be responsible for growing the company’s business with the Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration, a current B3 Solutions customer. B3 Solutions serves its FAA and Volpe National Transportation Systems Center customers in Washington, D.C., Boston, Oklahoma City, and Atlantic City, N.J.

“John Cornwell is a seasoned business development professional who has vast experience working with a variety of agencies in the federal government,” said Brenda Bearden, B3 Solutions president. “He is especially effective in helping government customers understand how they can meet their mission. Cornwell is an excellent addition to our business development team.”

Prior to joining B3 Solutions, Cornwell was a senior director at Keane Federal Systems where he was responsible for business development in civilian agencies. He served as civilian sales director for Micro Focus and was a business development manager for Fujitsu Computer Systems. Cornwell previously held management positions with Software Alternatives Inc. and IBM. Cornwell earned his B.A. in economics and business administration from Furman University, and a certificate from Babson College’s Executive Education Course.

Nyce, who had a distinguished career of more than 35 years in the federal government and vast experience in program management, acquisition, administrative operations as well as in building and facility management and modernization, will be responsible for overseeing the company’s growing business with a number of government departments and agencies including Departments of Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs, GSA, Office of Personnel Management, and USDA.

John Nyce is very highly regarded for his vision and his leadership of a variety of federal government programs,” said Brenda Bearden, B3 Solutions president. “He is a skilled executive who has a well-deserved reputation for delivering results. John’s experience, skill and reputation make him an invaluable asset to the B3 Solutions team.”

Prior to joining B3 Solutions, Nyce served as associate director of the Acquisition Services Directorate, the Department of the Interior’s large fee-for-service contracting organization, where he doubled the business base revenues, and expanded the acquisition side of business that obligated more than $2 billion of contract awards annually.

Nyce spent the first 20 years of his career at the Naval Air Systems Command where he was a program manager for the Navy Electronic Acquisition office. He directed contracting teams in support of the Cruise Missile and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle programs.

Nyce earned his MBA from The George Washington University and his B.S. in business administration from the Pennsylvania State University.

Marshall, who has more than 20 years of experience in program management and contracting, will be responsible for management and supervision of the company’s growing homeland security business, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, FEMA, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, TSA and U.S. Coast Guard portfolio.

Edward Marshall has broad experience in working with federal government customers in both the homeland security and defense sectors,” said Brenda Bearden, B3 Solutions president. “He has an outstanding record of executive leadership and program management that will complement and strengthen our management team.”

Prior to joining B3 Solutions, Marshall was a director of contracts at QinetiQ North America’s systems engineering division and a lead acquisition expert for a Marine Corps product group. Marshall held numerous U.S. Coast Guard leadership positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, and various contracting, teaching, acquisition and program management positions while on active duty with the U.S. Army, where he served for 20 years before retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Marshall was a Defense Acquisition University contract management professor.

Marshall earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a certified Project Management Professional and Certified Professional Contracts Manager. Marshall holds DAWIA Level III Certifications in Program Management and Contracting, as well as executive leadership certificates.

01 May, 2012, Alexandria,VA - John Nyce, Director, Federal Services Sector for B3 Solutions LLC, has been nominated for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man of the Year" award in recognition of his fundraising efforts in the fight against blood cancer.

The 2012 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign began in early April. Nyce and other participants are raising funds through donations, sponsorships, in-kind opportunities and events. The top male and female fundraiser will be named Man & Woman of the Year on June 16.

In conjunction with Nyce’s campaign, B3 Solutions has made a generous contribution to the charity whose goal is to raise $1.1 million by mid-May. Nyce has named his fundraising campaign “Team Roberta” in honor of a close personal friend and a former executive assistant, Roberta Richardson, who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia called myelodysplastic syndrome.

She is also a person with an extremely strong faith which has allowed her to bravely fight this terrible disease for the last three years. Roberta continues to fight with unbelievable determination.”

06 Mar, 2012, Huntsville, AL - B3 Solutions LLC, which provides services to the federal government, announced today that it has appointed Cliff Plaxco as its director of business development for the company’s defense and federal sectors.

Plaxco, who has more than 25 years’ experience in acquisition, program management, IT and supply chain solutions management, will join B3 Solutions’ Huntsville operations where he will work with the company’s current customers and industry partners.

“Cliff Plaxco is a respected, experienced professional who will leverage his program management expertise to grow our service offerings in the Defense and NASA marketplace,” said Brenda Bearden, B3 Solutions’ President. Bearden said B3 Solutions opened its Huntsville operations earlier this year to better serve clients in the Federal marketplace.

Prior to joining B3 Solutions, Plaxco was a Program Manager at Arcata Associates and Director of Supply Chain Management Operations at Computer Sciences Corporation.
